I had only seen it in T.V, internet.. but there is no place on Earth that captures my fascination like the way this place does. Machu Picchu, located in Peru and build around 1460 by the Incas as a haven and then abondoned 100 years later. It was first discovered by archeologist Hiram Bingham, in 1911. It is so unbelievable that such a huge place, remained hidden from many centuries. Why it was abondoned? Nobody knows, apparently Incas did not have any written scripts. But its the only place that was not discovered by the invading Spainish conquerers and thats why it wasnt destroyed unlike other Inca sites.
The primary buildings are the Temple of Sun, Intihuana and the Room of three windows. It is 24oo meters and 7,895 ft above sea level.
The place is simply enchanting, and the more I read and see about it, the more I like to go there. Its amazing how Incas can built such a magnificent place.
Though I know I probably can never go there, there is still hope... because place like Machu Picchu deserves to be acknowledged no matter what.
